Leonardo da Vinci and the taming of the waters
One day guided tour to Vigevano and to a rice producion plant
In the morning a visit to a rice production plant, to learn about the industrial production of Lombardy’s most important crop. Afterwards, a visit to a Lomellina traditional rice farm, to learn about the history, development, nutritional value and techniques of cultivation of rice.
Lunch will be hand crafted – by the participants themselves!Under the guidance of a cook and rice expert, the students will create their own culinary masterpiece to satisfy their hunger and curiosity at the same time. After a risotto-based lunch, in the afternoon, a special extended Original History Walk of Vigevano, telling the incredible story of the Ideal City of the Renaissance and how Leonardo da Vinci made a contribution, among many other things, to the modern rice industry by learning to tame the waters required for its cultivation.
