locandwoundhealing-2017

The 1st International Conference on Wound Healing and Monitoring is a two-days meeting – at Palazzo Vistarino, on June 16 and 17) – inspired by the application of the Centre for Health Technologies in Pavia to a multicentric, multidisciplinary, international project, funded by NATO’s “Science for Peace and Security” program.

The project aims at designing and creating a prototipe of sensorized plaster for the treatment of skin wounds, that would be used in difficult scenarios like natural disasters. The meeting explores the two main aspects of the project: medical and engineeristic, and will address and discuss the following topics: Innovative treatments in wound healing, Wound therapy, Wound repair and regeneration, Regenerative medicine, Bioengineering and sensing.

The Conference gathers academics and scientific innovators, as well as international organizations and representatives of the industries to consider potential strategies for bioengineering and regenerative treatment related to the wound-healing process, fostering discussion and exchange of ideas among researchers of diverse areas of expertise. The participation of international experts is expected, both in the fields of wound care (MDs both civilian and military, Plastic surgeons and researchers) and in design of wearable sensors (biomedical engineers, chemists and physicists of materials).
The congress is open to field researchers, MDs, PhD students, students of medical sciences and also students showing interest in the multidisciplinar approach to this topic.
